Non-discrimination and equality awareness-raising and training project closing seminar to be held in April
In the framework of the project "Awareness-raising in the areas of non-discrimination and equality targeted at civil society organisations" (ART) the closing event will be held in April 2012
In the framework of the project "Awareness-raising in the areas of non-discrimination and equality targeted at civil society organisations" the Migration Policy Group, together with Human European Consultancy (HEC), will design material and implement trainings that aim to strengthen the capacity of NGOs to deal with non-discrimination and equality.
The overall goal of the project is to improve the impact and effectiveness of civil society organisations with regard to the implementation and promotion of equality and non-discrimination legislation and policy.
In each of the countries covered by this project (EU Member States, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, FYROM, Serbia and Turkey), two national facilitators (trainers) were selected during the project elaboration phase to train civil society organisations at the national seminars organised in all target countries.
In April, a closing seminar will be held to present the results of the national seminars, including suggestions and recommendations for further action. Participants to the closing seminar will be selected from the national trainers, participants at the national seminars, NGOs umbrella organisations and representatives from the European Commission.
The present project builds on two previous initiatives, successfully carried out by MPG and HEC, namely "Mapping capacity of civil society dealing with anti-discrimination (2004)" and "Anti-Discrimination and Diversity Training (2006)".
